It is used for large size coil springs, leaf springs, various round flat springs, spring rings, sheets, cold-drawn steel wires and springs. |

It has the tendency of overheating sensitivity and temper brittleness, and water quenching has the tendency to form cracks. The properties are similar to 1070 steel, but the hardenability is slightly higher. After heat treatment, the strength, hardness and elasticity are better than 1070 steel. It has superheat sensitivity and temper brittleness tendency. It is easy to decarburize and form crack tendency during water quenching, and the cold plastic deformation ability is poor.
