304 stainless steel pipe
Full name SUS304 stainless steel pipe
SUS304 stainless steel pipe belongs to the American grade material of stainless steel pipe, and the domestic grade is equivalent to 0Cr19Ni9 stainless steel pipe, usually replaced by 0Cr18Ni9.
The mechanism of stainless steel rust prevention is the formation of a dense oxide film by alloying elements, which isolates oxygen contact and prevents further oxidation. So stainless steel is not 'stainless'.
The occurrence of rust on 304 material may be due to the following reasons:
1. There are chloride ions present in the operating environment.
Chlorine ions are widely present, such as salt, sweat, seawater, sea breeze, soil, and so on. Stainless steel corrodes rapidly in the presence of chloride ions, even surpassing ordinary low-carbon steel.
So there are requirements for the use environment of stainless steel, and it is necessary to regularly wipe, remove dust, and maintain cleanliness and dryness.
316 and 317 stainless steel
 It is a type of molybdenum containing stainless steel. The molybdenum content in 317 stainless steel is slightly higher than that in 316 stainless steel. Due to the molybdenum content in the steel, the overall performance of this steel is better than 310 and 304 stainless steel. Under high temperature conditions, when the concentration of sulfuric acid is below 15% and above 85%, 316 stainless steel has a wide range of applications. 316 stainless steel also has good resistance to chloride corrosion, so it is commonly used in marine environments.
