This is a kind of alloy quenched and tempered steel with better performance and more economy. The steel has good hardenability. The critical hardenability diameter in water is 24~47.5 mm, and in oil is 11~27.5 mm. After quenching and tempering, the steel has high strength and wear resistance, good toughness and labor resistance, good machinability, and medium cold deformation plasticity; However, the weldability is poor. During heat treatment, there is a tendency of temper brittleness, slight decarburization, white spots and overheating sensitivity. Compared with 40Cr steel, this steel has the same properties as the quenched and tempered parts with a section of less than 60mm, except that the impact value at low temperature (below - 20 ºC) is slightly lower. Used as medium speed and medium load parts; Or it can be used as parts with high load and little impact under quenching and tempering conditions, or as parts with large cross section and requiring surface quenching. In the general machinery industry, this steel is used to manufacture transmission gears, main shafts, mandrels, rotating shafts, connecting rods, worms, trolley shafts, generator shafts, crankshafts, flywheels and large and small forgings; In the manufacture of steam turbine, it is used as the main shaft and hub with working temperature below 400 ºC and diameter within 250mm, impeller with thickness below 170mm and various important fasteners; In agricultural machinery, it mainly manufactures wear-resistant parts such as hoe handle, plough shaft, etc. In addition, it can also be used as thin wall seamless steel pipe. This steel can completely replace 40Cr as quenched and tempered steel or partially replace 40CrNi steel in addition to requiring high impact toughness at low temperature (below - 20 ° C)
