Features and applications

It has high endurance strength and creep strength at high temperature, good impact toughness at low temperature, good hardenability, no overheating tendency, small quenching deformation, acceptable plasticity at cold edge forming, and medium machinability. Due to poor weldability, preheat before welding, heat treatment after welding and stress relief are generally used after quenching and tempering, or after high and medium frequency surface quenching or quenching and low and medium temperature tempering. Used as important structural parts working under high load, such as transmission parts of vehicles and engines; The rotor, main shaft, transmission shaft with heavy load, and large section part 34CrMo4 of steam turbine generator are used to manufacture forgings with higher strength and larger quenched and tempered section than 35CrMo steel, such as large gear for locomotive traction, supercharger transmission gear, rear axle, connecting rod and spring clip with heavy load, and 34CrMo4 can also be used for drilling pipe joints and fishing tools for oil deep wells below 2000m
