Application

Medium strength. During cold deformation, it has high plasticity, good low-temperature performance, and acceptable weldability and machinability. Compared with carbon steel with corresponding carbon content, its hardenability is higher, with a critical hardenability diameter of 4-15 mm in oil. However, during heat treatment, it has a tendency to overheat, decarburize sensitivity, and temper brittleness.
It can be used as carburized pinion gears, shafts, steel sleeves, as well as piston pins, crosshead pins, diesel engine sleeves, diesel engine sleeves, valve tappets, shift gear control rods, etc. that do not require high mechanical properties. It is used for manufacturing bolts, screws, nuts, riveted weldments, etc. in hot rolled and normalized conditions. When used as a part with a small cross-section, it can replace 20Cr. It can also be used as quenched and tempered steel, such as cold heading bolts or structural members with larger cross sections
